Anusorn Thamchai Shouts for Peace and Humanity During Min Aung Hlaings Welcome Ceremony

Anusorn Thamchai, a Member of Parliament from the People's Party, shouted "For peace! For humanity!" inside the parliament during the Senate President's welcoming of Myanmar's leader Min Aung Hlaing, prompting police to quickly escort him out of the area.

At about 10:30 a.m. on 7 Aug 2026, reporters at the Parliament building reported a disruption during the scheduled welcoming ceremony by Senate President Mongkol Surasajja for Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, political and military leader of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, visiting Thailand officially as a government guest in the special reception room 204. Before the ceremony began, in the Anon Hall area in front of the special reception room, Anusorn Thamchai, MP for Bangkok from the People's Party, was waiting to observe and prepare to submit a letter via the Senate President to Myanmar's leader, urging urgent resolution of cross-border problems and support for democratic restoration processes in Myanmar.

At 10:50 a.m., as Senior General Min Aung Hlaing's delegation arrived at the reception point, Anusorn loudly and repeatedly shouted "For peace! For humanity!", causing alarm among event organizers and security officers. As a result, parliament police quickly intervened and immediately escorted Anusorn out of the area.
