Minister of Public Health Patthana revealed that six hospitals received 22 injured patients from the shooting at Thepsirin School in Nonthaburi. Nine patients are in critical condition. He ordered ongoing care and deployed seven MCATT teams to provide psychological support to those affected by the incident.
On 7 August 2026, Mr. Patthana Promphat, Minister of Public Health, addressed the violent incident at Thepsirin School in Bang Kruai District, Nonthaburi Province. He said he personally visited the area to monitor the situation and assigned nearby Ministry of Public Health hospitals to provide the best care for the injured. He emphasized close monitoring of patients in critical condition, ensuring bed availability, supporting resources, and maintaining continuous coordination for patient transfers. He also instructed the Department of Mental Health to send MCATT teams to assist with psychological care for those affected and to communicate with society to prevent psychological harm or copycat behavior. Currently, seven MCATT teams have been deployed on site, including two from Srithanya Hospital, one from Somdet Chao Phraya Institute of Psychiatry, one from Kanlayana Rajanagarindra Institute, one from Rajanagarindra Institute of Child and Adolescent Mental Health, one from Mental Health Center 4, and one from the Mental Health Service Administration Division, totaling 35 personnel.
Dr. Somrak Jungsaman, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health, reported that as of 13:30, 22 injured patients were transferred for treatment across six hospitals: Bangyai Hospital (10 patients), Bang Bua Thong Hospital (2 patients), Bang Kruai Hospital (3 patients), Pak Kret Hospital (4 patients), Kasemrad Inter Hospital (1 patient), and Kasemrad Rattanathibet Hospital (2 patients). Among them, 9 are in critical condition (red), 4 in urgent condition (yellow), and 9 with minor injuries (green). Psychological care for those affected will be organized according to their proximity to the incident: Group A includes the injured and relatives of the deceased; Group B comprises relatives of the injured and students present during the incident; Group C covers parents, students, and school staff; and Group D consists of the general public who are aware of the event and society at large.
