On 8 August 2026, Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, party-list MP of Bhumjaithai Party and former Minister of Industry, commented on the Prime Minister's urgent order to check the financial status before proceeding with Thai Help Thai Phase 2, which may adjust the funding ratio to 50:50. He said that during his visits to several provinces, merchants and citizens responded very positively. Overall domestic spending has revived, benefiting both buyers and businesses, circulating money within the economy. This reflects that the government's 'Thai Help Thai Plus' program can genuinely stimulate consumer spending and increase economic liquidity at the community level. It is considered a success from the half-half project initiated in General Prayut Chan-o-cha’s government to the current era under Anutin Charnvirakul.
"Today, many merchants and citizens express their gratitude to Prime Minister Anutin for driving the Thai Help Thai Plus program, which stimulates the economy during a time when purchasing power has not fully recovered. It increases money circulation in the national economy, tangibly easing citizens’ living costs. They also urge the government to extend the program further because they see it as a policy that genuinely reaches and benefits the people. However, I want to remind those criticizing this policy that proper economic stimulus is not about competing over who distributes more, but about which government uses its budget more intelligently and achieves more tangible results," Thanakorn said.
