
The Prime Minister led the celebration of the "74 Days, 74 Million Calories" achievement honoring the 74th birthday, inviting the public to embrace healthy living, joining his wife, Ja Thananon, in aerobics dancing.
9 August 2026 GMT+7 Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the success announcement ceremony for the "74 Days, 74 Million Calories" exercise project under the Sports Promotion for Thailand's National Development project, under royal patronage, honoring His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of his 74th birthday on 28 July 2026. The public participated through the "Kao Tha Jai" platform, burning a total of 153 million calories, exceeding the set goal.
At Suphachalasai Stadium, the atmosphere was lively with over 7,400 attendees, led by Mrs. Thananon Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister's wife, Minister of Public Health Puttana Prompat, along with Public Health Ministry executives, government officials, private sector personnel, and the general public.
Mr. Anutin said the project was organized to follow the King's dedication to physical care and sports promotion, serving as a model for citizens to be healthy, disciplined, and united. He emphasized that the government prioritizes proactive health promotion, as good health is the foundation of social stability and national development. Promoting exercise is a way to develop human resources and increase long-term economic productivity. The government aims to support infrastructure such as parks, sidewalks, and local activity areas to ensure all age groups have convenient access.
Before the official ceremony began, the Prime Minister and the Public Health Minister invited participants to run around Suphachalasai Stadium. The Prime Minister greeted the crowd warmly, joking that he planned to run one full lap before changing his route across the lawn toward the stage area.
On stage, Mr. Anutin said this nationwide campaign and event have inspired widespread enthusiasm for exercise, making it a part of daily life. Therefore, opportunities and beneficial activities must be expanded to reach every province, district, and community through cooperation between government and private sectors to build an active and healthy Thai society.
He also praised the Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health, and all partner networks for driving the project to success, congratulating all agencies and citizens receiving awards and certificates today. Their commitment sets an example for health care and inspires more Thais to love exercise, making it a lifestyle that strengthens both physical and mental well-being, forming the foundation for strong families, quality communities, and a stable, prosperous, and sustainable Thailand.
The Prime Minister then pressed the button to announce the project's success and presented awards and certificates to agencies and partners, with the Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health, as the main driving force. The event concluded with officials and citizens joining in four continuous aerobics songs, starting with the hit "Chef Ba" by Hai Arpaporn Nakhonsawan, bringing smiles and fun to all participants.
