The Prime Minister joined the promotion of the “Ananda Mahidol Day 2026” pin campaign under the theme “Care Beyond Cancer,” inviting donations to help needy patients and ailing monks.
At 10:00 a.m. on 11 August 2026, in the central hall of Building 1, Government House, before a Cabinet meeting, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul participated in promoting the “Ananda Mahidol Day 2026” pin campaign under the theme “Care Beyond Cancer.” Associate Professor Jirut Sriratanaban, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Chulalongkorn University, along with representatives from the Faculty of Medicine and its Student Club, presented commemorative pins and Chulalongkorn University Faculty of Medicine shirts to the Prime Minister and Cabinet members to publicize the project and invite public donations to aid needy patients and ailing monks.
The spokesperson said that on this occasion, the Prime Minister made a donation and listened to the purpose behind the Ananda Mahidol Day pin campaign. He stated that the working team will jointly promote the campaign through social media to encourage interested citizens to support aid for needy patients and ailing monks. Afterwards, the Prime Minister took photos with the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Chulalongkorn University and medical students from Chulalongkorn.
The commemorative pins for Ananda Mahidol Day are produced annually by the Faculty of Medicine and its Student Club at Chulalongkorn University to honor the many royal benevolences. The campaign is also a humble tribute and expression of gratitude, while raising public awareness of the royal grace and providing an opportunity for donations to create merit.
Ananda Mahidol Day falls on 9 June every year, marking the anniversary of the death of King Ananda Mahidol (Rama VIII), the royal founder of the Faculty of Medicine at Chulalongkorn University. It is therefore a significant day for the 'Chula medical community' and all Thai people.
