
A royal command has been issued relieving Pongsawat Nilayothin from the position of Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice following her resignation.
On 11 August 2026, the Royal Gazette website publishedan announcement from the Office of the Prime Minister regarding the release of a civil servant from their position.It stated that the Ministry of Justice has authorized Ms. Pongsawat Nilayothin, a civil servant holding the position of Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Office of the Permanent Secretary, to resign from government service effective 19 July 2026, and the Secretariat of the Cabinet has submitted a royal request to relieve her of the position.
Now, a royal command has been graciously issued to relieve the aforementioned individual from the position of Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, effective from 19 July 2026.

Additional reports indicate that the person appointed to replace the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice is Mr. Piyasiri Watwanarangkul. The Cabinet meeting on 7 July 2026 approved, as proposed by the Ministry of Justice, the transfer of Mr. Piyasiri, Secretary-General of the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre (SBPAC), to serve as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice.
Meanwhile, the Secretariat of the Prime Minister also proposed transferring Ms. Pongsawat Nilayothin, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, to serve as Advisor to the Prime Minister for Permanent Civil Service Officers (senior executive level) at the Secretariat of the Prime Minister. Shortly thereafter, Ms. Pongsawat submitted her resignation as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice.
