Suksamruay Unveils 2027 Plan to Release 3.4 Billion Baht Pending Funds to Village Funds, Creating Jobs and Careers

Suksamruay reveals the 2027 plan to release 3.4 billion baht of pending funds to village funds to create jobs and careers, following the government’s injection of 4.4 billion baht that successfully helped over 12 million debtors and elevated the grassroots economy.

On 12 August 2026, Ms. Suksamruay Wantaneeyakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office and Chairperson of the National Village and Urban Community Fund Committee, disclosed the direction to advance and uplift the village and urban community funds. For fiscal year 2027, the National Village and Urban Community Fund will continue the government’s policy aimed at creating jobs and careers by developing essential vocational skills for fund members nationwide and injecting capital as low-interest loans to fund career creation. This initiative will pilot with strong, high-potential village funds (dark green funds) to position them as key drivers of community economic development simultaneously.

The fund plans to allocate 3.4 billion baht of accumulated pending budgets since 2012 to village funds that are ready but have not yet received capital increases, granting 1 million baht each. If fully allocated, this will rapidly distribute funds into the village-level economy in a tangible way.

Ms. Suksamruay added that in fiscal year 2026, the National Village and Urban Community Fund implemented the “Thai Helps Thai: Capital Increase, Half Interest” project with a budget of 4.452 billion baht. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the project launch on 10 August at the Government House. The project assists more than 12 million members across 79,610 funds nationwide by having the government cover 50 percent of the interest payments members would otherwise owe. This initiative highlights the important role of village funds as a mechanism to help grassroots citizens resolve debt problems.

This operational plan aligns with the government’s intent to fully support budgets, with the ultimate goal of helping citizens break free from informal debt cycles and maintain revolving capital for sustainable career development.

“We want to transform village funds into key gears supporting the national economy. If members are disciplined and can leverage capital into income-generating businesses, the government is ready to fully inject budget support to improve the quality of life for grassroots people throughout the country,” Ms. Suksamruay said.
