Wan Yoobamrung Breaks Down Paying Respects to Mother Lamnao: Today Is Mothers Day, My Birthday, But Mom Is Not Here

Wan Yoobamrung posted a touching clip paying respects to his mother Lamnao on National Mother's Day and his own 52nd birthday. Tearfully, he said, "Today is Mother's Day, my birthday, but mom is not here." Lieutenant Colonel Chalerm wished his son to behave well and, if he chooses to enter politics, to succeed.

On 12 August 2026, Wan Yoobamrung, former Bangkok MP, posted a clip honoring his mother Lamnao Yoobamrung, whose body was respectfully kept in a coffin. He captioned it, "Paying respects to mom on Mother's Day and my birthday #MissingMom." In the clip, Wan spoke to his mother while offering a garland: "Mom, today is Mother's Day and my birthday, but you’re not here. I’m paying respects to you today, Mom, on Mother's Day and my birthday. I miss you, Mom. I don’t know what to say. I miss you." As he bowed, he sobbed throughout, then knocked on the coffin and hugged a photo of his mother Lamnao.

Lamnao peacefully passed away on 30 March 2026. After funeral rites from 31 March to 6 April 2026, the family conducted a burial ceremony and kept her body. On 7 April 2026, her body was relocated and preserved at the family’s private canal-side home (the Yoobamrung family residence).

Wan also posted a clip paying respects to Lieutenant Colonel Chalerm Yoobamrung, former Deputy Prime Minister and his father, on his 52nd birthday. Lieutenant Colonel Chalerm wished his son good health, to behave well, love his siblings and parents, be kind to those around him, and, if he pursues politics, to progress successfully. Wan asked his father to place his foot on his head, joking it would bring good luck, then expressed, "I love you, Dad. Wishing you good health." They then embraced and kissed each other.
