Social Media Praises Active Action by Consumer Protection Board, Resolving Child Swimming Course Refund Issue in Under 24 Hours

Minister Supamas Issarapakdi just received praise! Social media applauds the Consumer Protection Board (CPB) for its proactive approach, resolving a dispute with a children's swimming school over unpaid course fees in under 24 hours. The CPB emphasized that "course expiration is not an excuse" and demanded the operator refund parents within 15 days.

On 13 Aug 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that Ms. Supamas Issarapakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, overseeing the Consumer Protection Board (CPB), ordered assistance for consumers who purchased children's swimming courses but faced branch closures and refund refusals citing course expiration. She assigned Mr. Pradermchai Boonchuala, Advisor to the Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, and Ms. Patcharin Samsiripong, Secretary to the Minister, to follow up and report continuously. She also instructed Mr. Ronarong Phoolpipat, Secretary-General of the CPB, to promptly investigate and negotiate with the business operator. The matter was resolved within one day, reducing the refund wait from 60-120 days to within 15 days.

Recently, the affected consumer posted on social media praising the CPB's work, saying "Yesterday, I filed a complaint online with the CPB following everyone's advice. Within less than 24 hours, CPB officials quickly contacted me, visited the site to inspect and negotiate with the store immediately. The result: the store agreed to refund us! I am very impressed by the CPB staff's quick, dedicated work and their serious advocacy for consumers. For anyone facing exploitation by shops or businesses, I highly recommend not ignoring it but filing complaints with the CPB. They really help, and much faster than expected. Many thanks to all CPB staff and everyone’s advice. Thank you very much!"

This reflects the CPB's new proactive approach, swiftly addressing problems citizens face. If you are being exploited, you can immediately contact the CPB hotline at 1166.
