The Democrat Party spokesperson demands the overdue Border Patrol Police allowances for five months again, criticizing the government for abandoning frontline soldiers and revealing that the authorities claim the government has not yet approved the payments.
On 14 Aug 2026 GMT+7 at the Democrat Party headquarters, Mr. Pongsakorn Kwanmuang, the party spokesperson, stated that the party has followed up on complaints from Border Patrol Police personnel in Region 1 who have not received their combat allowances for the Thai-Cambodian conflict for over five months, since March 2026. They are entitled to a daily allowance of 240 baht for both military and police personnel, totaling 7,200 baht per month, as rights of frontline warriors who sacrificed to protect Thailand's sovereignty.
During the wartime, many sought to capitalize on the situation, but once the conflict ended, the frontline soldiers were abandoned. Therefore, the Royal Thai Police, the Royal Thai Armed Forces, the Prime Minister, and all involved must clearly explain why Border Patrol Police Region 1 have not been paid their allowances for over five months and when payments will be made. The authorities claim the government has yet to approve the budget. Whatever the issue, do not abandon personnel and damage morale in this way.
