The government is prepared to allocate budget to strengthen modern warfare technology for national defense, aiming to ensure the public feels confident and safe from threats by neighboring countries.
On 14 Aug 2026 GMT+7 at Wing 1 in Nakhon Ratchasima, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, in his capacity as Chairman of the National Security Council, visited to inspect a tactical demonstration and receive a briefing from the Air Force, welcomed by the Supreme Commander and the Air Force Commander.
After the visit, the Prime Minister said Wing 1 is a crucial operational base to counter invaders. This visit was to hear the Air Force's requests for government support over the past 10 months, reflecting increased readiness and capabilities. However, there remain several issues requiring further government backing to ensure the safety of the country and its citizens.
When asked about the five-policy collaboration approach, the Prime Minister stated the government and military will unite in national defense. This approach is not limited to the armed forces or security agencies but includes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, and all relevant bodies, working together to instill confidence and security in the public from threats by neighboring countries.
Regarding support for the military, the Prime Minister emphasized that warfare technology changes daily. “It is no longer just face-to-face combat” but requires the highest-level technology. If Thailand is more advanced than its neighbors, it gains a strategic advantage. Fortunately, past military leaders established strong infrastructure, enabling Thailand to maintain superior capability over surrounding countries.
“I urge the people to have confidence in the capabilities of all military branches. Everyone aims to never lose sovereignty and is fully committed to protecting the lives and property of all citizens,” the Prime Minister affirmed at the conclusion.
Following the tactical demonstration, Air Chief Marshal Rawin Thanomsing, Commander of the Air Operations Control Command (call sign "Hollywood"), presented an honorary insignia and the call sign "mickey" to the Prime Minister.
