Anutin Pays Respect to Thaksin, Sees Him Off After Private Meal with Four Former Prime Ministers

Anutin paid respects by kneeling at Thaksin's lap as he saw him off to his car after Ing invited them to close the room for a private meal with four prime ministers.

On 14 August 2026, following the Abhidhamma chanting ceremony for former Deputy Interior Minister Krieng Kalptinan, the host invited former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul to take a photo with the Kalptinan family.

Then, Phaethongtharn Shinawatra, former Prime Minister, invited Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who is also Minister of Interior and leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, to join a private meal. The room was closed to the media and photography was not allowed.

Reports stated that during the meal, Anutin sat in the middle of the table with former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and Phaethongtharn Shinawatra seated on either side, along with former Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat. The atmosphere was close and friendly. When it was time to leave, Anutin walked Thaksin to his car, where they briefly spoke. Thaksin asked, “Prime Minister, where are you headed next?” Anutin replied, “Heading home.”

Before Thaksin got into his car, Anutin respectfully bowed and knelt at Thaksin's lap to show his respect. Then, Thaksin's car departed the ceremony area.
