Peoples Party Launches “Decharat” for Nonthaburi Provincial Governor, Promotes “New Nonth” Policy to Make Nonthaburi a City for Everyone

"Teng" leads the People's Party to introduce Decharat as the candidate for Nonthaburi PAO governor, promoting the “New Nonth” policy to make Nonthaburi a city for all. Decharat is ready to continue the former PAO governor's work and push forward the N-N-T policy to success.

On 17 Aug 2026, Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the People's Party, along with Mr. Pichon Chaowaphatwong, the party secretary-general, officially announced the candidacy of Mr. Decharat Sukkamngern for Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization governor. Decharat, originally from Nonthaburi and former policy drafting team member for the Move Forward Party, will contest the by-election scheduled for 20 Sep 2026.

The party affirmed full readiness with the candidate, management team, MPs, and local councilors despite the accelerated election due to unforeseen events. They conducted a thorough candidate selection process and plan to formally submit the application to the Election Commission on 20 Aug 2026. The party will present 20 key policies as the best choice for Nonthaburi residents, highlighting the "New Nonth" vision based on the "N-N-T" principles.

Decharat explained his decision to run stems from a desire to maximize the benefit of policies he previously developed. Being a local, he understands and is aware of the issues. He assured that concerns over whether the former PAO governor's policies will be abandoned are unfounded, pledging to continue and build upon those policies under the "N-N-T" framework—Livable, Leading, Everyone.

This approach aims to resolve existing problems and address new challenges such as mental health, agricultural areas affected by seawater intrusion, and SME economic issues.

N – Livable: Restore the environment and care for mental health to reduce stress and pressure on residents.

N – Leading: Support children, farmers, and entrepreneurs to grow strong and be ready for change.

T – Everyone: Ensure all groups, regardless of political affiliation, participate in determining PAO policies and budgets through inclusive processes.

The plan is to lay the foundation with the "5 Bricks" strategy to continue good initiatives and develop new ones.

Decharat reaffirmed his willingness to continue beneficial projects of the previous PAO governor and dismissed rumors of the "Orange takeover" in Nonthaburi. He emphasized the party represents the "5 Bricks," symbolizing the famous brick products of Tha It, Nonthaburi, which will pave the way for growth for all, including:

1. Transparency: Conduct open work and involve the public.

2. Care: Listen to all complaints and issues from Nonthaburi residents.

3. Participation: Provide opportunities for citizens to help shape policies and budgets.

4. Commitment: Seriously address chronic problems at their root.

5. Creativity: Bring innovation and the creative economy to enhance quality of life and SMEs.

Mr. Natthapong responded to reporters that Decharat is recognized both internally and externally as qualified for the role. Everyone has witnessed his knowledge and ability, and as a local, he understands all the issues. Ultimately, trust rests with the voters.

Regarding whether campaigning will be aggressive, he declined to criticize, stating the People's Party is focused on fully presenting policies. He expects several forums between now and 20 September for Nonthaburi residents to follow the election campaign and learn about the party’s platforms. He believes these policies will address voters’ concerns. Ultimately, the election outcome is in the hands of the people, and he is prepared to accept the result.
