The Social Security Office is soliciting public feedback on the draft amended election regulations, aiming to ensure that employers and insured persons can exercise their voting rights broadly, in preparation for the election on 27 September 2026.
On 17 August 2026, a reporter reported that the Social Security Office is seeking public comments on the draft Ministry of Labour regulations concerning the criteria and methods for electing employer and insured representatives as members of the Social Security Committee (15th term). The aim is to revise the election criteria to comply with the law and promote inclusive participation from employers and insured persons.
This revision follows the Election Commission’s resolution approving amendments to the 2021 Ministry of Labour regulations related to voter registration. The Minister of Labour has approved the principles, with the key change being the removal of voter registration requirements for the 15th Social Security Committee election. This change is intended to increase participation from employers and insured persons and aligns with interim orders and rulings by the Central Administrative Court, as stated by the Social Security Office.
Accordingly, the Social Security Office is accepting public comments through the legal central system (www.law.go.th) from 17 to 24 August 2026 to complete the revisions before the scheduled election. The election day for employer and insured representatives to the Social Security Committee is set for Sunday, 27 September 2026. Interested parties can submit their opinions within the specified timeframe to help develop a transparent, fair election process that genuinely encourages participation from insured persons and employers. For further information, contact any Social Security Office branch nationwide or the Election Management Center for employer and insured representatives to the Social Security Committee (EMC) at 0 2956 2929 during office hours, or the Social Security hotline 1506 press 9, available 24 hours.
Similarly, Julaphan Amornwiwat, Minister of Labour, posted on Facebook that following the interim order and ruling of the Administrative Court concerning voter registration by insured persons and employers, the Election Commission approved amendments to the 2021 Ministry of Labour regulations. He has signed off on the approval accordingly.
Currently, the Social Security Office is inviting public opinion on the draft amendment to the Ministry of Labour regulations regarding the criteria and methods for electing employer and insured representatives to the Social Security Committee (15th term). The key amendment is the removal of voter registration provisions to enhance participation opportunities for employers and insured persons.
Therefore, employers, insured persons, and interested individuals are invited to help drive this election to be transparent and truly participatory by submitting their opinions on the draft regulations via www.law.go.th from now until 24 August 2026.
