Parit Challenges Wityas Explanation, Calls on DSI and Election Commission for Investigation Details

Parit challenges Witya's explanation and calls on the DSI and Election Commission to clarify the investigation files, asking whether leaked hotel clips allegedly showing collusion with senators are included in the investigation.

On 17 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Parit Watcharasindhu, MP from the People’s Party, posted on Facebook regarding Witya Kamphuang’s admission that he was the person in the leaked clip. Parit questioned whether this explanation is reasonable or credible, leaving the public to judge. However, he highlighted two points Witya denied but about which Parit still has doubts.

1. What is Witya's relationship with the Bhumjaithai Party? Witya stated he had no special or official connection with the party, although he supported its “Half-Half Plus” policy. He claimed appearing with Bhumjaithai ministers like Songsak Thongsri was only in his capacity as a local mayor related to regional projects.

But Parit found that Witya once wore a Bhumjaithai Party shirt at a press conference with Songsak Thongsri launching Bhumjaithai parliamentary candidates for Nong Khai, Chaiyaphum, and Sakon Nakhon provinces on 11 Nov 2025 GMT+7, which is presumed to be at the party's headquarters: https://bhumjaithai.com/news/110566

2. Did Witya pay for the accommodation at B2 Hotel (two bookings totaling 7,520 baht)? Witya insists he neither booked nor paid for the accommodation as alleged. Parit clarified he never accused Witya of booking the room, but evidence shows that the bank account used to transfer money to the hotel for payment was in Witya Kamphuang’s name. Thus, the key issue is not who booked but who paid. If Witya denies paying, is it possible someone used his account to pay instead?

Parit added that given Witya's explanations, it is now the duty of relevant government agencies, who presumably have the information, to clarify and resolve the doubts. He therefore calls on the DSI to clearly state:

1. Has the DSI investigated or examined the B2 Rangsit Hotel to confirm who booked, stayed, or paid for accommodation during 25-26 Jun 2024 GMT+7?

2. If so, can the DSI confirm whether payment was made to B2 Rangsit Hotel via a transfer from Witya Kamphuang’s bank account?

Parit also demands the Election Commission clearly state whether the events involving Witya at B2 Rangsit Hotel on 25 Jun 2024 GMT+7 are part of the EC’s investigation files or witness testimonies (for example, in the 26th inquiry committee)?

2. Has the EC ever questioned or investigated Witya’s actions?

3. If not (as Witya claims), why has there been no questioning or investigation?
