Sucharts Lawyer Pursues Criminal and Ethical Lawsuits Against Ice Rakchanok, Refusing Mediation

Lawyer Suchart is moving forward with criminal and ethical lawsuits against Ice Rakchanok, firmly refusing any mediation. He points out that the provocative posts are not honest criticism. Meanwhile, MP Ice acknowledges the charges and denies all allegations.

On 17 Aug 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that in the afternoon, Mr. Suchart Chomklin’s personal lawyer, representing the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, attended to follow up on the case and spoke to the media regarding the lawsuit filed against Ms. Rakchanok Srinok, also known as “Ice,” a Bangkok MP from the Prachachon Party.

At 17:00, Ms. Rakchanok arrived at Thonglor Police Station by motorcycle taxi to meet investigators as summoned. This followed Mr. Suchart Chomklin’s complaint accusing her of disseminating false information via computer systems that could cause public alarm and of defamation by advertisement.

Suchart’s legal team revealed that they came to oversee the fingerprinting process for Ms. Rakchanok, who faces two lawsuits. They confirmed there will be no negotiations or mediation and that the case will be pursued fully under the law. They clarified that terms like “brutal, retreat, evil” and accusations of bribery are not fair criticism but defamatory and damaging to reputation. They also plan to file a complaint with the National Anti-Corruption Commission regarding serious breaches of ethical standards.

Ms. Rakchanok spent about half an hour meeting with investigators before completing fingerprinting procedures in front of closely watching media. She gave an interview denying all charges, stating that politicians and public officials must allow citizens and the media to criticize or comment both directly and indirectly. She added that if one cannot tolerate criticism, they should consider resigning and pursuing other careers. She affirmed her readiness to fight the case through the justice system and will submit a written defense.

Additionally, Ms. Rakchanok commented on the TH-AI Passport project investigation, saying that recently the Minister, Permanent Secretary, and Inspector General of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society did not personally appear before the parliamentary committee. Instead, the TOR drafting team and evaluation committee—unable to answer the committee’s questions—represented them. She believes top executives should take responsibility by personally explaining and providing three key documents previously requested: the technical proposal, scoring criteria, and amended contract, rather than evading or issuing inconsistent statements. She vowed that when the project launches and public registration begins, she will file complaints with the National Anti-Corruption Commission and the Central Investigation Police Division to pursue legal action.
