Ombudsman Advances into Samphanthawong District, Holds Forum to Hear Public Issues

The Ombudsman advanced into Samphanthawong district, holding a forum to hear public concerns. Thongsak revealed that residents reflected problems of homelessness and vagrancy needing urgent resolution.

On 18 Aug 2026 GMT+7, reporters noted that on 17 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Thongsak Saichue, Chairman of the Ombudsman, led a delegation along with Bangkok Metropolitan Administration officials to Samphanthawong district. They organized public service units and opened a forum to gather opinions from community leaders and volunteer groups to promptly resolve straightforward issues of hardship and injustice.

Mr. Thongsak stated that the visit to Samphanthawong aimed to publicize the roles and missions of both the Ombudsman and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration in jointly addressing problems. A Mobile Unit was deployed to raise awareness, provide legal consultation, and receive complaints at the Samphanthawong district office. A key activity was a forum gathering 14 community leaders from Samphanthawong, Civil Defense Volunteers, Bangkok Public Health Volunteers, social workers and nurses from health service centers, community police officers, representatives from education and religious sectors, and local entrepreneurs—over 120 participants—to reflect on hardships, suggestions, and areas needing improvement or solutions at the local level.

Community leaders reported issues including homelessness and vagrancy, traffic management and parking problems, waste, the need for more green spaces, designated smoking zones, and public restroom facilities. The Ombudsman and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration pledged to expedite assistance and continuously drive solutions to these issues. Additionally, they visited vulnerable individuals in Samphanthawong, providing essential supplies and encouragement to three people within the community.
