
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that six Thai workers are under the care of doctors and Thai diplomats following reports of a residual explosion in Israel; two of the six were severely injured, have undergone surgery, and are now recovering.
On 18 Aug 2026, Ms. Jaitai Uppakaranitiket, Director-General of the Information Department and spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, disclosed that a residual explosion occurred in Metula in northern Israel this morning (18 Aug 2026), injuring six Thai workers. All were admitted to Ziv Medical Center in Safed. Of these, two were seriously injured, have undergone surgery, and are currently recovering under medical supervision.
Currently, the Ambassador in Tel Aviv has visited all the injured to monitor their condition and provide close assistance. The Embassy is urgently coordinating with the hospital and relevant local agencies to facilitate benefits and compensation for the Thai workers.
