Chulaphan has ordered urgent monitoring and close assistance for six Thai workers injured in an explosion in Israel.
On 18 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Chulaphan Amornwiwat, Minister of Labour, expressed concern for Thai workers injured in an explosion in agricultural land in Metula, northern Israel, earlier this morning. He instructed the labour office in Tel Aviv to urgently monitor the situation, coordinate aid, and closely protect the rights and benefits of the Thai workers.
Initially, the labour office in Tel Aviv reported that six Thai agricultural workers were injured by an old unexploded device buried underground. Two sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized undergoing surgery, while the other four are now safe.
The labour office is currently verifying accurate information, including the conditions and names of the injured workers.
Mr. Chulaphan added that the Ministry of Labour prioritizes the safety and well-being of Thai workers abroad. He has ordered the Tel Aviv labour office to closely monitor the injured workers’ conditions, coordinate with hospitals and local authorities, and promptly verify entitlements and assistance measures for the workers and their families.
Meanwhile, Israeli police and bomb disposal teams are investigating the facts and cause of the incident. The Ministry of Labour will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as soon as confirmed information becomes available.
