Pakamon Confirms Prachachon Party Does Not Support Section 112 Lawsuit Over Senator Bribery Audio Clip, Urges EC to Expedite Sending Accused to Court

Pakamon confirmed that the Prachachon Party does not support filing lawsuits under Section 112 over the senator bribery audio clip. She said the party only points out legal issues that allow political harassment and urged the Election Commission to promptly send all accused to court and stop delaying.

19 Aug 2026 GMT+7 Ms. Pakamon Nun-anun, party-list MP and spokesperson for the Prachachon Party, clarified allegations that the Prachachon Party (Pchn.) encouraged or incited people to file lawsuits under Criminal Code Section 112 related to an audio clip in the senator bribery case mentioning “the top.” She confirmed that the party does not support such prosecutions under Section 112 in this case.

Ms. Pakamon stated, the Prachachon Party fully understands the problems with enforcing Criminal Code Section 112, which currently allows anyone to file complaints against anyone else, making the law vulnerable to political harassment. She added that the provision does not comply with international standards. The party leaders’ previous statements merely questioned the standards of some political groups that often use this law as a tool to destroy opponents but remain silent when it affects their own side, aiming to highlight the distorted legal system rather than encouraging anyone to misuse the law to harm others.

The party spokesperson further revealed that the behavior of impersonation evident in the audio clip is another improper act within the senator bribery scheme, consistent with testimonies from several witnesses who have revealed clear links and patterns of this operation. "With all the evidence available publicly and held by the Election Commission now, I believe the EC must stop delaying. They should urgently exercise their authority to indict all accused involved in the senator bribery scheme and let the justice process determine the facts to restore public confidence," she said.
