Ministry of Interior Mobilizes Jet Skis, Boats, Helicopters, Water Production Vehicles, and Kitchens to Aid Nan Residents

The Ministry of Interior has ordered the mobilization of jet skis, boats, helicopters, water production vehicles, kitchens, tools, equipment, and personnel to urgently assist residents in Nan, while instructing officials to monitor social media posts from the public requesting help.

On 19 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Ploytale Laksamee Sangchan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that the Ministry of Interior responded to the Prime Minister's directive by deploying teams to monitor and provide urgent assistance for flash flood victims in Nan province. Officials have been continuously dispatched to help at-risk groups evacuate and have been instructed to closely monitor all social media channels where people post requests for assistance, urging prompt help to prevent prolonged hardship.

Mr. Jetsad Thaiset, Deputy Minister of Interior, has ordered the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) and the Lower Northern Regional DDPM units to urgently send all jet skis and flat-bottom boats to Nan province. He also instructed the KA32 helicopter to be on standby for rescue operations there. Coordination with the highways department, police, and local volunteers has been arranged to provide lead vehicles, equipment, and personnel urgently, especially water production vehicles, kitchens, tools, and supplies. If Nan requires additional support, they are urged to contact authorities immediately for rapid deployment. DDPM is to monitor the situation closely 24 hours a day.

"The Prime Minister has ordered that people in shelters be able to live as comfortably as at home, with full basic utilities provided. All provinces, districts, and local administrative organizations are instructed to continuously assess the situation. If rising water levels are expected anywhere, residents must be warned immediately and evacuated from their homes as quickly as possible. Most importantly, the safety of the people must be ensured." Ms. Ploytale stated.
