Government Reports Over 530,000 Pre-Registrations for TH-AI Passport, AiPASS to Launch on 31 Aug with 30 Free AI Models

The government revealed that the TH-AI Passport project has exceeded 530,000 pre-registrations and is preparing to launch AiPASS on 31 August, offering the public free access to 30 AI models, aiming to expand technology access to 5 million people.

On 19 August 2026, Ms. Lalida Pertvivattana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, announced the progress of the TH-AI Passport project. The National Digital Economy and Society Commission under the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society reported that as of 5:00 p.m., there were 532,692 pre-registrations. The AiPASS platform is set to officially launch on 31 August 2026, providing the public free access to a variety of artificial intelligence (AI) tools to try out.

The Deputy Spokesperson stated that the TH-AI Passport project aims to support up to 5 million people, enhancing AI literacy and encouraging practical AI adoption in education, work, and business. The government seeks to close the technology access gap and boost the capabilities of Thai people to adapt to changes in the digital economy and society.

The AiPASS platform will gather AI models from over 14 leading developers, totaling more than 30 models in one platform. These tools cover diverse tasks such as text creation and analysis, in-depth research, image and video generation, and Thai language models, enabling users to select appropriate tools and learn varied AI applications.

People can pre-register at de.aipass.net using a mobile phone or computer through a standard web browser. They must log in with a Google, Microsoft, or Apple account, complete the information, accept terms, and verify their identity through a government app or ThaiD. Once completed, the system will create an AiPASS account ready for activation on 31 August 2026. The system does not support registration via Incognito or Private Browsing modes.

“The over 530,000 pre-registrations reflect strong public interest in integrating AI into daily life. The government wants AI technology to be accessible and beneficial to all groups—including students, workers, entrepreneurs, and the general public—to enhance skills, improve work efficiency, and create new economic opportunities. The key goal is for Thai people not only to use technology but to choose and apply AI appropriately to their own tasks,” she said. Ms. Lalida added.
