Prime Minister Continues Work in New Zealand, Meets Private Sector and Leaders to Explore Economic Opportunities

Prime Minister Anutin continues his work in New Zealand, immediately beginning his mission. He meets with the private sector and holds talks with leaders to connect opportunities for enhancing economic, trade, and investment cooperation, aiming to create benefits for the Thai people.

On 20 August 2026 at 09:30 local time in Canberra (which is three hours ahead of Thailand), Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, announced that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, accompanied by his wife and delegation, departed from Fairbairn Military Airport in Canberra, Australia, to Auckland for an official visit to New Zealand from 20 to 22 August 2026. The Honourable Anne Aly MP, Minister for International Development, Multicultural Affairs, and Small Business representing the Australian Prime Minister, saw them off at the airport.

The Prime Minister and his delegation are scheduled to arrive at Auckland Airport, New Zealand, at approximately 14:35 local time, which is five hours ahead of Thailand. The Honourable Penny Simmonds, New Zealand Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology, will welcome them. Upon arrival, the Prime Minister will immediately begin his duties. In the evening, he is scheduled to meet with New Zealand’s private sector to discuss ways to expand economic cooperation and open opportunities for trade and investment between the two countries.


On 21 August 2026, in the morning, the Prime Minister will participate in an official welcome ceremony at the New Zealand Governor-General’s residence, followed by a small group meeting with The Right Honourable Christopher Luxon, Prime Minister of New Zealand, and a full bilateral discussion. Afterwards, the two leaders will hold a joint press conference, and the New Zealand Prime Minister will host a luncheon in honor of the Prime Minister and his wife.

In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will visit NZAero, a New Zealand aircraft manufacturer, to study the potential of the aviation industry and seek opportunities to enhance aviation industry cooperation between Thailand and New Zealand. The Prime Minister and delegation are scheduled to return to Thailand on Saturday, 22 August 2026, after completing the official visit to New Zealand.
