Anutin Declares Senate Collusion Disgusting if True, Denies Involvement, Affirms Ministers Ready for No-Confidence Debate

Prime Minister Anutin said that if Senate collusion is real, it is disgusting. He confirmed no involvement and that there is nothing to worry about. He revealed that if the opposition holds a no-confidence debate on the government's performance, all cabinet ministers are ready to respond.

20 Aug 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Anutin Chanvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. He gave an interview during a visit to Australia regarding the opposition's plan to submit a no-confidence debate against the government, stating: "There is no problem. We can clarify every issue. Every cabinet member in the government is ready to answer questions and explain to the public through parliamentary channels. The government operates all projects transparently from the start." "Each project generates added value, using taxes collected from people's trade to accelerate development, create opportunities, and genuinely return income to the people."

A reporter further asked about allegations of Senate collusion. These allegations, raised by Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, party-list MP, leader of the Prachachon Party, and opposition leader in the House of Representatives, will be used in the no-confidence debate, despite the government's consistent explanation that these issues occurred before this administration took office. Mr. Anutin responded: "I have clearly stated that this government has no involvement with the Senate. The government and Senate are separate institutions. The Senate belongs to the legislative branch, and we do not interfere or encroach on each other's authority."

The Prime Minister further revealed: "Using the term 'Senate collusion' reflects the intention of those wanting to malign this process. I personally consider that if such collusion truly occurred, it would be reprehensible, but we are not involved." "This government came from the people's election with no involvement whatsoever. Each minister was considered, granted royal appointment, took an oath, and delivered a policy statement to Parliament before managing the administration. Therefore, we will answer what we can. For what we do not know, have not seen, or are not involved with, we cannot respond. But I assure you, there is nothing to worry about regarding Senate collusion because it is unrelated to the government's work."

Mr. Anutin also said that if the opposition questions the government's performance, the responsible ministers are ready to respond immediately. For example, regarding AI policy, Mr. Chaichon Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, will answer. For loans, budget acts, or GDP and economic matters, Mr. Akniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, is prepared to clarify. If there are questions about security negotiations and treaties, the relevant ministers will provide explanations to the public in all aspects.
