Anutin Visits New Zealand to Invite Two Major Corporations to Establish Presence in Thailand

Anutin visits New Zealand to invite two major corporations to establish presence in Thailand, connecting agriculture and tourism to global markets. The Board of Investment (BOI) is tasked with ongoing follow-up on discussions with both companies.

On 20 Aug 2026 in New Zealand, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, revealed that during his official visit to New Zealand, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul met with executives of leading New Zealand companies, including Skyline Enterprises, which operates in tourism and attractions, and T&G Global, a global agriculture and fruit company owner of the Envy™ brand. The Board of Investment (BOI) facilitated the meetings to connect business opportunities and promote tangible investment and cooperation between the two countries.

The spokesperson stated that the Prime Minister used the visit to present Thailand’s potential directly to New Zealand’s business sector, emphasizing that Thailand is not only a large market but also an investment and production base as well as a gateway to ASEAN and other global regions. The government aims to transform the good relations between Thailand and New Zealand into economic opportunities benefiting citizens and businesses in both countries.

Regarding discussions with Skyline Enterprises, the Prime Minister invited the company to consider expanding investment to Thailand, highlighting Thailand’s strengths such as diverse tourist attractions, a large number of visitors, and potential to develop new tourism sites and activities, especially targeting family tourists, which aligns with the company’s expertise.

Skyline Enterprises’ executives expressed interest in business opportunities in Thailand, recognizing the market potential and tourism sites, as well as prospects for tapping into the family tourist segment. The Prime Minister assigned the BOI to closely coordinate with the company to explore feasibility and advance towards investment in Thailand.

In discussions with T&G Global, the company showed interest in finding a distribution base to support market expansion into ASEAN countries and India. The Prime Minister proposed that Thailand be considered as a distribution hub, noting Thailand’s advantages in location and logistics systems, connecting land and water transport to neighboring countries, ASEAN, and external markets. Additionally, Thailand’s network of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) can support business expansion and market access abroad.

Moreover, the Prime Minister invited T&G Global to view Thailand not just as a distribution point but as an agricultural partner. Thailand is a major global producer of agricultural products and food, with diverse raw materials and strong agricultural knowledge and technology, while New Zealand has expertise in product development, branding, and global marketing. Combining the strengths of both countries could increase agricultural product value, create new products, and expand markets simultaneously.

The Prime Minister also suggested extending cooperation by leveraging the strength of the Envy brand and T&G Global’s international market network to support opening markets for quality Thai fruit, especially in Europe. This would benefit both parties: New Zealand can use Thailand as a gateway to ASEAN and India, while Thai fruit gains opportunities to access new foreign markets through New Zealand’s partner networks.

"This visit to New Zealand aims to turn international relations into tangible economic opportunities. We invite investment into the country, while also opening doors for Thai products and entrepreneurs to reach global markets. Thailand has location advantages, agriculture, tourism, infrastructure, and FTA networks. Connecting these strengths with global capital, technology, and business networks will benefit Thailand beyond mere trade," said the spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister. .

The Prime Minister has assigned the Board of Investment (BOI) to continuously follow up on discussions with both companies to convert private sector interest into concrete investment projects and cooperation, which will help create economic activities, increase opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs, and strengthen Thailand’s role as a regional business, investment, and market connectivity hub.
