Anutin Immediately Flies to Nan After Australia-New Zealand Visit

The Prime Minister is set to fly immediately to Nan Province after returning from visits to Australia and New Zealand, then in the afternoon will travel to Ubon Ratchathani to visit soldiers injured by a landmine incident.


On 21 August 2026, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, stated that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul is on an official mission visiting Australia and New Zealand, which helps advance cooperation in trade and investment and elevate relations with both countries. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister continues to closely monitor flood situations in Thailand, especially in Nan Province, urging agencies to expedite aid to the people and prepare to visit the area immediately upon returning to Thailand.


The spokesperson added that the Prime Minister is scheduled to return to Thailand on Saturday evening and will travel to Nan Province early Sunday morning to personally monitor flooding and relief efforts, as well as listen to local issues and needs to ensure that post-flood assistance and recovery can proceed swiftly.


Then in the afternoon, the Prime Minister will proceed to Ubon Ratchathani Province to visit and encourage the humanitarian demining unit personnel who were seriously injured after stepping on a landmine while on duty near Chong An Ma, Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani, on 17 August.
