Deputy Interior Minister Je Setth is rapidly mobilizing machinery to restore flood-damaged areas in Nan, aiming to return transportation routes and public utilities to residents within 7 days.
On 21 August 2026, Deputy Interior Minister Je Setth visited Pua District, Nan Province, to monitor the flood damage situation and command restoration efforts. At Rat Phatthana Village, Moo 4, Waranakhon Subdistrict, he urgently instructed all sectors—government, local authorities, and private—to mobilize machinery to build water barriers to redirect the overflowing water of the large Khwang River tributary back into its main course. This aims to reduce community impact and enable residents to clean their homes as soon as possible.
Additionally, Je Setth rode an off-road motorcycle with local officials to heavily damaged sites to listen directly to residents' issues. He set a firm 7-day deadline for all agencies to repair transportation routes, electricity, and water supply systems to full operation. He stressed the importance of providing excellent welfare, food, and accommodations for staff and volunteers, preparing supply transport vehicles from Bangkok to support restoration efforts so residents can quickly resume normal life.
