The Permanent Secretary of the Interior has ordered governors of 76 provinces to coordinate government agencies in urgently surveying and compiling data on citizens who failed the eligibility verification for the State Welfare Card, ensuring no distressed individuals are overlooked.
On 22 Aug 2026, Mr. Assit Sampanrat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, revealed that Prime Minister and Interior Minister Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul is concerned about citizens who did not pass the eligibility screening for the 2026 State Welfare Card registration project. He has instructed relevant government agencies to proactively verify the data and facts accurately. The Cabinet resolved on 21 Jul 2026 to assign the Ministry of Interior, through provincial governors, to integrate efforts with other local agencies to urgently survey and compile data on citizens who failed eligibility checks but are reasonably believed to be in distress and in need of government assistance, and to promptly forward such data to the Ministry of Finance for consideration.
Mr. Assit stated that the Ministry of Interior has instructed governors of all 76 provinces to assign and urge relevant government departments to expedite helping citizens access their State Welfare Card rights according to government policy. This involves promptly surveying and compiling data on those who failed eligibility checks but are reasonably believed to be in distress and in need of government aid, and forwarding this information promptly to the Ministry of Finance. The goal is to ensure citizens’ access to rights is orderly, accurate, complete, current, and benefits all qualified individuals thoroughly.
The agencies involved in integrating efforts to verify the data of citizens reasonably believed to be in distress and in need of government assistance include: "Personal criteria" (Thai nationality/aged 18 years or older as of registration closing date) at district/municipal registration offices; "Income" data from the Revenue Department, Comptroller General's Department, Social Security Office, State Railway, Port Authority, Lottery Office; "Financial assets" (deposits/lottery tickets) from all financial institutions; "Debts" and "Credit cards" from the National Credit Bureau Public Company Limited; "Real estate" from the Department of Lands and Agricultural Land Reform Office; and "Vehicles" from the Department of Land Transport.
Citizens can inquire for information through the State Welfare Card Customer Service Hotline at 0-2109-2345, Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 17:30, where Ministry of Finance staff provide information and consultation regarding the State Welfare Card project.
