Meanwhile, “Chulapan” sent "Pipatchai" to Ban Rong, Pua District, to deliver relief bags and drinking water to alleviate hardships.
On 22 Aug 2026 at 14:00, Professor Dr. Yotsanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), serving as Chair of the Committee on Flood and Drought Prevention and Resolution in Northern Thailand, visited Pua District to oversee recovery efforts and urgently assist people affected by the floods.
Professor Dr. Yotsanan stated that today's visit was to continue monitoring progress on disaster recovery. The first stop was the connecting route at Ban Mon, Pua District, where a temporary steel bridge (Barin Bridge) was constructed. This has now been completed and opened for public use, easing difficulties for local residents who had been cut off from main routes for four days.
Then, Professor Dr. Yotsanan, accompanied by the Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO) Chief and his team, proceeded to inspect progress on another temporary bridge nearby. Residents on the opposite side had been isolated for 3–4 days and had to cross by balancing on logs and holding a cable rope to receive relief supplies. The bridge construction has advanced significantly and is expected to be completed and ready for use by the evening of 23 August. Relief bags, essential consumables, and medicines were distributed to affected people to provide initial aid and moral support.
