Sakolthee revealed that the Democrat Party has called a meeting of its MPs on 25 August to discuss submitting a no-confidence debate against the government and constitutional amendments. The agenda includes issues such as collusion among senators, the TH-AI Passport project, and mismanagement within the Ministry of Public Health.
On 22 August 2026 at the parliament, Sakolthee Pattiyakul, party-list MP and deputy leader of the Democrat Party, stated that on 25 August there will be an important meeting of Democrat MPs regarding the submission of a no-confidence debate against the government and constitutional drafting, as well as several other issues the government plans to bring to the next parliamentary session. When asked about the topics prepared for the no-confidence debate, Sakolthee said that party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva is focusing on the collusion among senators issue, while party-list MP and deputy leader Kanda Liao-pairoj is handling the TH-AI Passport matter. He himself is reviewing alleged negligence in the Ministry of Public Health, including issues concerning cannabis, the Phor Thip and Doctor Prom Thip programs, to assess whether the minister has neglected management and problem-solving, including lingering issues in the National Health Security Office (NHSO).
When asked about the opposition's insufficient votes to topple the government despite the quality of the debate, Sakolthee said it is inherently difficult for the opposition to bring down the government through a no-confidence debate. However, at least it provides a platform to reveal shortcomings and disclose information for the public to judge. Sometimes, the opposition may lose the vote but win the public's perception, depending on the credibility and weight of the information presented during the no-confidence debate.
