The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration dispatched forces to Din Daeng flats to investigate the issue of foreigners holding pink cards who have improperly registered residence in the Din Daeng district. Authorities have demanded landlords and related individuals provide statements within 30 days. They warned that failure to comply will result in removal from the population registry and relocation records.
On 22 Aug 2026 GMT+7, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration coordinated units under its authority, including the Office of Administration and Registration, Din Daeng District Office, and the specialized task force for identity security enforcement (BMA Identity Crime Enforcement: BMA I.C.E.), to inspect Din Daeng flats near Soi Prachasongkroh 11. The operation aimed to follow up and verify facts concerning foreigners holding pink cards with identification numbers beginning with 7 who have improperly registered residence.
An examination of Din Daeng's population registry data on 14 Aug 2026 GMT+7 revealed irregularities in residences housing more than 16 occupants, raising suspicion. Foreigners holding pink cards with numbers starting with 7 were found to have registered residence in 49 households improperly. Previously, officials inspected three houses; on 21 Aug, they examined 27 additional houses, and today they inspected 29 more.
During today's field operation, officials divided into several teams to interview landlords, residents, and neighbors to gather information for verifying facts on a household-by-household basis. If a house is found unoccupied, the Din Daeng District Office will issue a letter inviting the landlord or related parties to provide statements regarding the large number of registered address changes to the same residence. Those summoned must respond to the local registration office within 30 days of receiving the letter.
Failure to respond within the specified period will lead the Din Daeng local registration office to remove those individuals from the population registry and relocation records. They will also proceed in accordance with the ministerial regulations governing procedures for disputing or clarifying facts, appeals, and appeal reviews of registrar orders, B.E. 2551 (2008).
