Yotchanan Welcomes Prime Minister on Arrival in Nan Province to Prepare for Conference on Northern and Northeastern Flood Issues

Anutin leads a delegation to Nan Province to monitor flood mitigation efforts. Yotchanan joins the welcome party. A conference with governors is planned to address flood problems in Northern and Northeastern regions before visiting troops in Ubon in the afternoon.


At 09:35 on 23 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, accompanied by Minister of Defence Lt. Gen. Adul Boonmattacharoen, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Minister of Interior Jesada Thaises, Permanent Secretary of Interior Atthit Sampanrat, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration Narucha Kosasivilai, Army Commander Gen. Pana Kluaoplotthuk, and Army Chief of Staff Gen. Chaiphruek Duangprapat departed from Military Airport 2, Wing 6, Don Mueang, Bangkok to inspect and follow up on flood situations and mitigation efforts in Nan Province. The Prime Minister and delegation arrived at Nan Nakhon Airport at 10:37.


Upon arrival, the Prime Minister will chair a conference with governors of Northern provinces to monitor flood mitigation efforts in Northern and Northeastern regions at the Nan provincial hall. In the afternoon, he will proceed to Ubon Ratchathani Province to visit and encourage humanitarian demining personnel who suffered serious injuries from stepping on a landmine while on duty at Chong An Ma in Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani, on 17 August 2026.

Reporters stated that upon the Prime Minister's arrival, Yotchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, who has been in Nan since 19 August 2026, joined the welcoming party at Nan Nakhon Airport.
