Prime Minister Visits Chong An Ma to Boost Morale of Brave Soldiers, Wishes Safety and Victory

Prime Minister Anutin led a delegation to Chong An Ma, Ubon Ratchathani Province, to boost the morale of brave soldiers, emphasizing the government's full support for all missions defending Thailand to ensure victory is achieved at every turn.


At 2:00 p.m. on 23 August 2026 GMT+7. Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul. After traveling from Nan Province, he arrived in Ubon Ratchathani to receive briefings, deliver supplies, and offer encouragement to personnel responsible for guarding and protecting Thailand’s land at Chong An Ma, Nam Yuen District. Accompanying him were Defense Minister Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Deputy Minister of Interior Jesad Thaiyasut, Deputy Minister of Digital Economy and Society Nan Boonthida Somchai, and Secretary to the Prime Minister Traisulee Traisoranalukul.

Also present were Permanent Secretary of Interior Arsit Sampantharat, Deputy Permanent Secretary Nirath Pongsitthaworn acting as Director General of the Department of Local Administration, Director General of the Department of Provincial Administration Naruetcha Kosaivilai, Army Commander General Pana Klaewplodtuk, Army Chief of Staff General Chaiphruek Duangprapat, Ubon Ratchathani Governor Narong Thepsena, and other officials. They gave support to local administration, the Volunteer Defense Corps, village security teams, and local residents. They also visited personnel injured during bomb disposal operations along the Chong An Ma border at Camp Saphasitthiprasong Hospital in Warin Chamrap District, Ubon Ratchathani.



The Prime Minister said that after the tragic incident where soldiers lost limbs in the line of duty, which deeply saddened him, he has been concerned and discussed with the Army Commander. He said that upon returning from overseas duty, he intends to meet with all forces again, as he has not had the chance to meet everyone since early this year, and it has been a source of discomfort for him.

During the two rounds of conflict, he closely bonded with all officers, monitoring the situation and witnessing the heroism of the soldiers, including injuries and fatalities. He vowed to use all his abilities to support the armed forces to perform at their highest efficiency in combat and to be protected from enemy clashes. He urged everyone to have confidence that the government stands firmly behind all soldiers.



There is constant coordination with senior commanders, and whenever incidents occur, he feels deeply concerned about everyone's safety. He urged all officers to cooperate fully, assuring that the government will provide full support and requesting everyone to exercise utmost caution during all missions to minimize risks.

Prime Minister Anutin added, "I will visit our injured comrades—may they be the last—and I hope we all learn lessons to increase our personal safety. We are always with you." Finally, he offered blessings from all sacred powers and the royal grace of the Thai Commander-in-Chief, wishing all soldiers and officials victory, safety from all dangers, and the honor of protecting our homeland with pride. He assured that they will meet again often and emphasized, "We reaffirm our support for everyone's missions so that we achieve endless victory."

Regarding landmine clearance, Thailand has contaminated areas in 15 districts across six provinces: Ubon Ratchathani, Sisaket, Surin, Buriram, Sa Kaeo, and Trat. From 29 December 2025 to 31 March 2026, 673 landmines and explosive devices have been cleared. During the operational clearance supporting border defense forces between 11 December 2025 and 31 March 2026, a total of 390,000 square meters have been secured as safe zones.
