Je Seth Brings Machinery to Restore Nan, Accelerates Full Restoration of Water Supply for Residents by Tomorrow

In response to the Prime Minister's policy, "Je Seth" has brought machinery to restore flood-hit Nan Province, accelerating the full restoration of the water supply system to residents by tomorrow. He vows to do his utmost and takes full responsibility alone for any mistakes or shortcomings.

23 Aug 2026 GMT+7 Je Seth Thaiset, Deputy Minister of Interior (Interior Minister No. 3) attended a meeting to monitor flood situations across 37 northern and northeastern provinces, chaired by Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. Also present were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Yotsanan Wongvasit, relevant ministers, Nan Governor Chainarong Wongyai, and other agencies at the Phra Chao Suriyaphong Phritdet meeting room, 3rd floor, Nan Provincial Hall, Muang District, Nan Province. The meeting aimed to monitor conditions and expedite plans to rehabilitate affected areas.

Je Seth said the Prime Minister ordered an all-out effort to restore flood-affected areas. He is ready to implement this policy by mobilizing all personnel, machinery, and resources from every agency to the field to quickly restore public utilities and allow residents to return home as soon as possible, as this is the most critical phase—rehabilitation.

. . . The Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) has deployed machinery and manpower to the area to urgently repair the system, expecting to deliver full water service by Monday, 24 August 2026. However, some areas may still face issues with water pressure, volume, or broken water pipes, which officials will work to resolve as swiftly as possible.

The Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning, together with the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), has mobilized all forces, machinery, loaders, trucks, and equipment to Pua District, Nan Province, to rapidly remove mud, debris, waste, and residual materials from the flash flood. They are also expediting restoration of roads and damaged public utilities, aiming to complete within seven days to make the area functional and enable residents to return home promptly.

The DDPM Region 15 Center in Chiang Rai has provided one mud suction truck to clean mud in Ban Don Mun community, Village No. 6, Naeng Subdistrict. Additionally, one wheel loader and four dump trucks have been deployed to scoop and remove mud and debris from Ban Hia, Sila Laeng Subdistrict, to designated dumping sites. They have also supplied food trucks and drinking water vehicles to prepare 3,000 food boxes and drinking water for flood victims at the Pua District shelter.

Meanwhile, the DDPM Region 5 Center in Nakhon Ratchasima dispatched wheel loaders, dump trucks, and staff to clean Soi Wat Rong, Pua Subdistrict, spanning about 200 meters. They collaborated with the DDPM Region 15 Center to remove mud and debris from Ban Hia, Village No. 1, Sila Laeng Subdistrict, and sent a 12,000-liter water truck to wash houses near Ban San School, Satun Subdistrict, Pua District.

Additionally, trucks equipped with long-distance water pumps have been positioned at the 200-Year Park pond in Pua District to supply water to government and private water trucks for cleaning homes. A 10,000-liter water truck is supplying clean water from the Provincial Waterworks Authority to residents for consumption at Wat Pa Muet, Sila Laeng Subdistrict, Pua District.

Je Seth added that rehabilitation must cover all aspects—not just clearing debris but swiftly restoring public utilities, roads, homes, and communities, alongside providing psychological support to victims and accelerating damage assessments to ensure aid reaches affected people quickly and comprehensively.

"Rehabilitation is the toughest phase, but we will do our best. If any mistakes or shortcomings occur, I will take full responsibility alone," he said.
