Pol. Col. Tawee visited Taluban Municipality to inspect damage caused by a bomb attack. He noted the perpetrators acted as an organized group using between 500 and 1,000 personnel and criticized security forces for underestimating the situation.

Tawee Sodsong, a party-list MP and leader of the Prachachat Party, serving also as an advisor to the House of Representatives’ Committee on Law, Justice, and Human Rights, traveled to Taluban Municipality Office (20 Luk Suea Road), Sai Buri District, Pattani Province, to offer support to officials and residents after a group of at least 10 attackers planted bombs that severely damaged the building.
Pol. Col. Tawee said that this municipality is a source of pride for locals, as the former mayor raised funds to purchase over 70 rai of land to build public facilities. The attackers’ deliberate destruction of these community assets is deeply regrettable. He revealed that he spoke with Mayor Alim, who is determined to quickly restore the area to demonstrate the resilience of government agencies.
Assessing the situation, Pol. Col. Tawee viewed the unrest as revealing gaps and operational problems within the state. A key point is that the attacks were a large-scale organized operation: simultaneous acts at more than 51 locations indicate systematic planning. It is estimated that over 500 people were involved, and including incidents of tire burning, the number could reach 1,000 participants.
The widespread destruction of government property reflects state weakness and directly undermines public confidence in the government. He criticized security agencies for underestimating the situation, urging them to conduct deeper analysis rather than dismissing it as ordinary crime such as drug offenses or tax evasion—a long-standing theory that has failed to resolve the problem.
“The destruction of government property and resulting damage show the state's weakness. Therefore, on a detailed level, security forces must reconsider because sometimes we underestimate the situation,” he said.
Pol. Col. Tawee also proposed adjusting problem-solving roles locally, emphasizing the importance of local administrative organizations as the “mother” of the community, while village and subdistrict chiefs are like the “father.” Public service and care must continue without interruption.
He suggested expanding local administrative organizations’ responsibilities beyond education and infrastructure to include security of life and property and disaster management, since no agency understands local problems better than those within the community.
