Prime Minister Discusses Wannor-Security to Monitor Situation in Three Southern Border Provinces

Before today's Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Anutin summoned Wannor and security agencies to continuously monitor the situation in the three southern border provinces.


At 08:35 on 25 August 2026 GMT+7 Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul arrived at the Thai Khu Fah Building, Government House. Prior to the Cabinet meeting, he convened a meeting with security agencies to monitor and assess the situation following unrest incidents in various areas of the three southern border provinces. This meeting was a continuation from 24 August when the Prime Minister had already convened security agencies to follow up on the situation.

Today's meeting included Deputy Prime Minister for Legal Affairs Pakorn Nilprapunt; Wannor Mutah, Prime Minister's Advisor and Special Representative to the Government Committee on Southern Border Province Issues; Chatichai Bangchuad, Secretary-General of the National Security Council; Thanat Suwannanon, Director of the National Intelligence Agency and head of the Southern Peace Negotiation Team; Piyasiri Watwanarangkul, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice; Arsit Sampanrat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior; and Narucha Kosasivilai, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration.
