Prasert launched Traffy EDU to receive incident reports aiding children, teachers, and parents after violent events in schools. He revealed a budget of 1 million baht to restore flood-damaged schools in Nan Province and stated schools will not reopen until safety is guaranteed.
At 09:30 on 25 Aug 2026 at the Government House, Education Minister Prasert Chantraruangthong explained that following the incident at Thepsirin Nonthaburi School, it became clear that many victims did not know whom to report to and feared for their safety. The Ministry of Education has promoted the Traffy EDU application as a reporting channel linked to the Rights and Liberties Protection Center to enable immediate assistance. Traffy EDU is now operational and covers six dimensions: 1. Rights, freedoms, and human dignity; 2. Violence, harassment, and abuse; 3. Health, mental health, and risk; 4. Digital threats and information security; 5. Environmental and external social hazards; 6. Disasters, accidents, and physical safety risks. This benefits students, staff, and parents, who can scan the Traffy EDU QR Code to report.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Yotsanan Wongsawat spoke about addressing flooding in Nan Province, noting multiple sectors are involved. He said that the Cabinet will review relief measures today and that he will visit the area later that afternoon to monitor progress.
Education Minister Prasert Chantraruangthong stated that the flooding and landslides in Nan Province have impacted educational institutions, affecting staff safety and school property. He ordered the three Nan educational districts to inspect school building safety and allocated a 1 million baht budget for cleaning and restoration. He also directed Nan Vocational Education to mobilize volunteer technicians and Fix It Center teams to repair equipment and assist those affected. Before reopening, a thorough safety evaluation of all school facilities will be conducted. He affirmed schools will not reopen until there is full confidence in the safety of teachers and students, while repair and cleaning efforts continue and alternative teaching arrangements are made until schools are ready.
