Justice Minister Ruttapon revealed that the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) is preparing to file a complaint with the Crime Suppression Division to prosecute those who leaked and published the 'Senator Collusion Case' files, which may involve both criminal and special investigation law offenses.
At 09:45 on 25 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Police Lieutenant General Ruttapon Naowarat, Minister of Justice, spoke at the Government House regarding the case in which iLaw (ILaw) revealed information about the 'Senator Collusion Case'. He was asked whether the documents are genuine and were obtained legally. He said that, according to news reports, the documents are indeed case files from the Financial, Banking, and Money Laundering Crime Division, a specialized unit under the DSI. He expressed doubts about how the documents were obtained.
Currently, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice has appointed a fact-finding committee to determine who leaked the documents and who was involved. Once the investigation is complete, the DSI director will report to him on how the information leaked externally. He also learned that the DSI director plans to file a complaint with the Crime Suppression Division to identify and prosecute the offenders and all involved parties. Those involved include anyone who used the documents and case files during the investigation, who may face criminal charges and violations under special laws.
Regarding whether the complaint will target officials who disclosed the information as well as external parties who disseminated it, Police Lieutenant General Ruttapon said police will assess the evidence to determine the culpability of those who took and spread the documents. He also revealed that the leak happened during an investigation period under the previous Minister of Justice, before he took office.
