He also supports SME D Bank by providing special interest rates to assist entrepreneurs.
On 25 Aug 2026 GMT+7 at Government House, Warawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Industry, spoke before the Cabinet meeting about plans to assist entrepreneurs affected by flooding in Nan Province. He stated that after water levels began to recede 2-3 days ago, the Ministry of Industry ordered staff through the "Unified Industrial Center" to promptly clean and assess damages. Preliminary surveys found most businesses were not severely affected, with cleanup mainly involving removing mud from the premises.
Warawut emphasized that the provincial industry office should coordinate with relevant agencies to thoroughly inspect factories, especially key infrastructure like electrical and wastewater treatment systems. If any systems are damaged or unfit for use, the ministry is ready to dispatch experts immediately to repair them so factories can resume operations safely and quickly.
Additionally, for SME and Micro SME operators as well as factory owners facing financial difficulties, the Ministry of Industry has coordinated with the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SME D Bank) to prepare special interest loan programs to boost liquidity and support full recovery of businesses in Nan Province.
