Ruttaphon refuted Lawyer Aun's claim, insisting he did not delay the Khao Kradong case. He revealed that during his police service, he arrested Lawyer Aun's father and strongly responded that if anyone acted as a #SonOfPrisoner, the person would feel uncomfortable. Regarding Chonnapat's matter, he is confident that justice will be served.
At 09:45 on 25 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Pol. Lt. Gen. Ruttaphon Naowarat, Minister of Justice, spoke at the Government House regarding Mr. Phattharaphong Supakorn, or Lawyer Aun from Buriram, who called on the Justice Minister to stop delaying the Khao Kradong land case. He said this is not the case; the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has already forwarded the case file to the prosecutors. The case predates his appointment. If petitions went directly to the DSI without passing through the ministry, he was unaware, but if informed, he would have urged the DSI to expedite the process.
When asked if he had any conflict with Mr. Phattharaphong, Pol. Lt. Gen. Ruttaphon replied there was none, but in the past, when he served as a police officer, he had arrested Lawyer Aun's father and a teacher friend on drug charges in 1998. The court sentenced them to life imprisonment. He also knew that Lawyer Aun's mother was arrested elsewhere and sentenced to 25 years. This was part of his official duties with no personal issues. He did not understand why Lawyer Aun accused him of ignorance and neglect regarding the Khao Kradong case. Therefore, he confirmed that the ministry's work follows procedures, and if urged, he would take action.
"While Lawyer Aun submitted the Khao Kradong case to the DSI, inappropriate language was used. If speaking about anyone, terms like #BrokenSpear are impolite. For example, if someone called Lawyer Aun #SonOfPrisoner, I believe he would be upset. I do not want such things to happen as it sets a bad example for youth, which I do not support. I urge everyone to communicate respectfully. If there is a request, I will act according to the law. No matter how many times I say it, the agencies are working on it. Regarding Lawyer Aun's claim of being a candidate for Justice Minister, I suggest he learn the ministry's systems first so he does not appear ignorant when it becomes real, for the media and public to understand."
Additionally, the Justice Minister commented on the case of Mr. Chonnapat Naksaow, Member of Parliament for Songkhla from the Kla Party, who plans to submit a petition for justice after being indicted by the DSI and sent to the Supreme Prosecutor in a gambling and transnational crime case, saying he has the right to seek justice. Since Chonnapat just submitted the case to the prosecutors, he must file petitions on each issue. The minister believes Chonnapat will receive fair treatment in this matter.
When asked about Chonnapat's claim that he had previously requested justice from the DSI investigators but received no clear response, Pol. Lt. Gen. Ruttaphon said he was unaware of the details and must verify whether the DSI had received such a petition. If so, the DSI must act accordingly. It is also the right of Chonnapat to submit petitions at the prosecutor's level.
