On 25 August 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Nan Boontida Somchai, spokesperson for the Bhumjaithai Party, stated after the weekly party MP meeting that the party is fully prepared for the opening of the House of Representatives session. In the first week, they will consider a royal decree granting the Ministry of Finance authority to borrow funds to address the impacts of the energy crisis and support the country's energy transition. The following week will focus on reviewing the draft 2027 annual budget bill in its second and third readings.
The Bhumjaithai Party spokesperson said the party is well aware the opposition will certainly submit a no-confidence debate. Bhumjaithai MPs are ready to participate in meetings and debates weekly on any issue. When asked about preparing a 'bodyguard' team to protest in defense of ministers, Nan Boontida explained that such a term is unnecessary. However, if debates deviate from parliamentary rules or the motion's subject, members have the right to raise objections according to procedures. She also expressed confidence that the cabinet is ready to respond to all points the opposition raises in debate.
Additionally, Nan Boontida emphasized that Bhumjaithai MPs will intensify their work both in their constituencies and within parliament, promising the public will see new dimensions of their efforts. Regarding new legislative proposals during this session, the party currently has several draft bills under public consultation and plans to submit them for parliamentary consideration alongside various cabinet bills.
