MP Ramadan of the People's Party called on the Prime Minister to establish an investigative committee into the unrest in the southern border provinces, along with measures to protect survivors, victims, and witnesses, aiming to build trust and ensure justice.
At 2:00 p.m. on 26 August 2026, at the press room on the first floor of the Parliament building, Ramadan Panjor, a party-list MP from the People's Party, held a press conference on the unrest situation in the southern border provinces. He said he had visited Narathiwat Province to gather information and found inconsistencies in reports from various parties, which could lead to misunderstandings about the facts and affect public confidence in safety.
Ramadan said that to clarify the situation and restore confidence in the investigative process, he urges the Prime Minister and government to form an independent and transparent fact-finding committee alongside the police investigation, to thoroughly examine facts from all sides.
He also requested protective measures for injured survivors, victims, and witnesses so that all parties can safely and candidly provide information and facts. This would lead to a credible investigation and foster confidence and fairness for the people in the southern border provinces.
