Ice Delivers Fiery Debate, Mocking the Loan Decree, Jabs at Making People Self-Sufficient

"Rakchanok" fiercely criticized in Parliament, mockingly rubbing her hands and smirking at the loan decree, saying it enables people to get back on their feet, while taking a jab at central budget allocations favoring Bhumjaithai areas, before facing disruption and being ordered to withdraw her remarks.

On 26 August 2026, during a House of Representatives session, Rakchanok Srinok, list MP of the People’s Party (PPP), rose to debate, raising concerns about the 400 billion baht loan decree empowering the Ministry of Finance. She warned that the latter 200 billion baht tranche might not be used for the claimed energy transition but was merely a polished facade. She rubbed her hands and licked her lips as she suggested that if this money is used, many could profit and that taxpayers’ money might become a financial pipeline for the blue faction.

Rakchanok continued her debate on the 6.5 billion baht central budget for drought relief, noting that 5.5 billion baht was allocated according to electoral district maps, with most funds going to constituencies held by Bhumjaithai MPs, even in areas not at risk of drought. She argued that if the 5.5 billion baht is so precisely allocated to Bhumjaithai areas, the 200 billion baht tranche might also be distributed to benefit the blue faction nationwide.

Her debate led to multiple protests from Bhumjaithai MPs. Meanwhile, Lertsak Phatchaikul, Deputy Speaker of the House, cautioned Rakchanok to keep her remarks within the scope of the loan decree and ordered her to retract disrespectful comments that implied Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Akniti Nitithanprapas had compromised their backbone to serve the blue faction system. Rakchanok complied and withdrew her remarks as instructed by the presiding officer.
