Chulapan sent Phiphatchai, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor, to open the "Repair, Build, Happiness" center, mobilizing craftsmen from 17 northern provinces to restore Nan Province after floodwaters receded, enabling people to return to safe living and quickly resume their livelihoods.
On 26 August 2026, Mr. Chulapan Amornwiwat, Minister of Labor, assigned Mr. Phiphatchai Paiboon, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Labor (Political Division), to visit Nan Province to open the "Repair, Build, Happiness" center. He led a team of skilled craftsmen and volunteers to assist and restore damage to the community following flash floods and landslides. They were joined by Ms. Nattayan Taweewong, Deputy Governor of Nan, Sergeant Major Prayong Boonchuay, Inspector General of the Department of Skill Development, heads of Labor Ministry offices in Nan, teams of craftsmen from skill development institutes and offices across 17 northern provinces, and volunteers. The mission took place at Ban Rong Temple, Pua Subdistrict, Pua District, Nan Province, aiming to quickly restore homes and essential living facilities so residents can return to normal life as soon as possible.
Mr. Phiphatchai Paiboon, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor (Political Division), stated that Mr. Chulapan Amornwiwat, Minister of Labor, is deeply concerned for the people affected by the flood disaster. He assigned him to monitor the situation and deliver assistance from the Ministry of Labor directly to those in need. The Department of Skill Development has mobilized skilled craftsmen from 17 northern provinces along with DoHome Public Company Limited to jointly drive the "Repair, Build, Happiness" mission to rehabilitate damages after the floodwaters receded. The focus is on repairing essential items for daily living and livelihoods to help reduce the financial burden on disaster victims.
"This mission is not just about repairing damaged items; it is about transforming craftsmen's skills into tangible help to enable people to live safely and resume their occupations promptly," he said.
Since 25 August, the team of craftsmen has been working to repair electrical systems inside homes and temples to restore normal living conditions for residents. Currently, the electricity authority has restored power to 18 households. Additionally, they have provided maintenance services for motorcycles and small agricultural engines, totaling 28 units, which are essential tools for transportation and livelihoods in the area.
Mr. Phiphatchai added that beyond repairing homes and livelihood tools, the Ministry of Labor also prioritizes support for vulnerable groups affected by the floods. After completing the mission at Ban Rong Temple, the team visited residents in Ban Kaem, Woranakhon Subdistrict, Pua District, Nan Province—another area impacted by the floods. They delivered a bed to Mr. Surasit Thaibunruang, an insured person under Section 33 who is disabled, to assist with daily living and alleviate the family's difficulties.
The Ministry of Labor, through the Department of Skill Development, is coordinating with government agencies, private sectors, and civil society to continuously mobilize skilled craftsmen to aid disaster victims. The aim is to ensure post-flood rehabilitation covers homes, public utilities, livelihood tools, and the quality of life of residents, enabling the people of Nan to return to stable living and work as quickly as possible.
