Deputy Minister of Interior Je Set visited Pua to deliver toys that brought smiles to children after the disaster and worked to quickly restore water and electricity services for residents in the area.
On 26 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Je Set Thai Set, Deputy Minister of Interior (MOT3), visited Ban Pha Wiang, Phu Kha Subdistrict, Pua District, Nan Province, to monitor post-flood recovery efforts. He emphasized caring for residents' living conditions and mental well-being, delivered eight additional generators to alleviate power outages, and brought toys to local children to lift their spirits. He then walked through nearby villages to inspect damage to homes, gathering data to target relief efforts effectively.
Next, Je Set traveled to Sila Daeng Subdistrict to accelerate public utilities restoration and comprehensive aid. He led the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning team, along with engineers, to Village 4, Ban Rong, to inspect and assess the structural integrity of homes for repair planning. He also monitored the operation of machinery from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) supporting recovery tasks in the area.
Regarding water supply, the Deputy Minister reported that the Provincial Waterworks Authority has fully restored service. For the heavily damaged village and mountain water systems, he ordered procurement and delivery of materials today to expedite repairs. He thanked various foundations and personnel who provided daily water trucks for community consumption while repairs are underway.
Je Set emphasized that the Ministry of Interior must comprehensively support residents in all aspects—housing, water, electricity, safety, and mental health—after disasters. Efforts must swiftly help people return to normal life while concurrently strengthening infrastructure for future resilience.
