The government warns that 31 August is the final day to submit appeals for state welfare card eligibility; 4.54 million applicants have yet to act. It advises submitting appeals promptly—data corrections via OSS accepted until 20 September 2026.
On 27 August 2026, Ms. Lalida Pertwiwatthana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, stated that the government reminds people registered for the 2026 state welfare program who failed eligibility checks that if they wish to request a re-examination, they must submit an appeal by 31 August 2026, the final day for submissions. She urged those who have not yet acted to check their status and submit appeals within the deadline.
According to data from the Department of Provincial Administration as of 26 August 2026 at 08:30, 9,314,253 applicants failed eligibility checks. Of these, 4,767,301 (51.18%) have submitted appeals, while 4,546,952 (48.82%) have yet to do so.
Those wishing to appeal can do so via the project websites welfare.mof.go.th or statewelfarecard.mof.go.th, the "Pao Tang" application, the "Thang Rat" government app, or at branches of five state banks: Krung Thai Bank, Government Savings Bank, Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives, Government Housing Bank, and Islamic Bank of Thailand, during business hours.
Ms. Lalida explained that the timeline should be viewed in two parts: 31 August 2026 is the final day to submit appeals, while those needing to correct data with the relevant agencies can submit supporting documents through district-level or Bangkok area One Stop Service (OSS) centers until 20 September 2026.
“If the eligibility check results or system data do not match reality, please submit an appeal by 31 August. Document submission to correct data with the relevant agencies can continue until 20 September to avoid missing the appeal deadline,” Ms. Lalida said.
The Ministry of Finance will announce the appeal results starting 30 September 2026. Applicants who pass the eligibility check and complete all procedures will be able to use their benefits from 1 October 2026 onward.
Among the newly eligible applicants who must verify their identity, totaling 3,139,886, 2,510,504 (79.96%) have completed verification, while 629,382 (20.04%) have not. Those who have not yet verified are urged to do so promptly through the program's specified channels to ensure timely benefit access.
The Deputy Spokesperson emphasized that submitting an appeal requests a re-examination of data and eligibility by the relevant agencies but does not guarantee automatic approval. She urged the public to check their status, complete all required steps, and follow information only from the official project website or government channels.
