Theng-Decharat Campaign for Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization with Five Education Policies and a 1.6 Billion Baht Budget Plan

"Nattapong-Decharat" campaigned in Nonthaburi PAO area, gathering input from teachers, students, and parents to continue and build upon Nonthaburi's education. They revealed a budget plan of 1.6 billion baht to promote five educational policies.

On 27 June 2026, Mr. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the People's Party, visited Nonthaburi Magnet School with Mr. Decharat Sukkamned, candidate number 4 for Nonthaburi PAO president from the People's Party, to gather opinions from students, parents, and school staff on making learning easier for students in Nonthaburi.

Mr. Nattapong said, "We know that the people of Nonthaburi value education. Nonthaburi Magnet School is one of the schools directly managed by Nonthaburi PAO, maintained since the previous PAO president. Today, we intend to discuss with teachers, students, and parents to present our policies and show our commitment. Our team, led by Decharat, myself, MPs, and all People's Party members, wants to collectively elevate education."

Regarding the education budget managed by Nonthaburi PAO, Mr. Nattapong emphasized there will be no reductions. The current planned budget is about 1.6 billion baht. The five educational policies—upgrading student skills, improving teacher quality of life, supporting mental health for teachers and students, reducing educational inequality, and expanding learning spaces—will be implemented directly by Decharat for Nonthaburi residents.

During the campaign, many asked if the People's Party would continue the clearly effective education policies already developed. Decharat affirmed that having been a teacher for over 30 years and working in education throughout his life, he deeply understands its importance. His daughter studies in Nonthaburi and has benefited from PAO support, witnessing the positive impact of past education policies.

Mr. Decharat confirmed that if elected Nonthaburi PAO president, the support from the PAO will remain unchanged. This includes hiring contract teachers, foreign language teachers, religion teachers, and other educational staff, with the PAO continuing to provide 90% of funding in partnership with schools. Student benefits such as transportation and free tuition at Nonthaburi Magnet School will continue and be expanded.

"The overall budget of 1.6 billion baht per year will be allocated to education throughout the four years. I want to emphasize that no budget, benefit, or teaching position will be affected by my or the People's Party team's leadership," Mr. Decharat explained.

Mr. Decharat described the five educational focus areas: First, in-depth learning—students will have better access to language education and specialized expertise needed for the future. Learning will be tailored to student interests, such as design, astronomy, or history, similar to after-school clubs, coordinated with expert agencies like the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) or GISTDA. Vocational and international curricula will be developed to enable students to work with foreign or multinational organizations, increasing youth employment opportunities.

The second policy is learning spaces: A problem for children in Nonthaburi, including Decharat's own, has been the lack of quality libraries, co-working spaces, and museums on weekends, forcing travel to Bangkok. He plans to establish learning spaces across all six districts of Nonthaburi, with good libraries, work areas, a youth council base, and constant internet access.

The third policy concerns mental health: Recognizing that children face significant stress from competition and uncertainty, he will urgently create a support system for schools within 30 days, in time for the second semester. Schools or students with problems can contact Nonthaburi PAO for assistance. Activities to promote relaxation and well-being will also be provided.

The fourth policy addresses educational inequality: Although Nonthaburi has invested well in education, disparities remain, especially in small schools. A support team will assist these schools, and the school lunch budget will increase to 30 baht per student per day, using safe, high-quality food from local farmers in Sai Noi and Bang Bua Thong, as discussed with the People's Party team. Support will also extend to childcare centers with storybook houses and play areas where parents can borrow books and toys on weekends to aid children's development, benefiting both childcare centers and schools with additional learning resources.

Finally, regarding teachers: While teacher positions and salaries will remain the same, benefits will increase. Decharat and his team plan three new supports for Nonthaburi teachers: 1) A teacher clinic for consultation on personal or teaching issues to reduce stress; 2) Learning vouchers for teachers during school breaks to pursue topics of interest or related to their work; 3) A teaching resource repository allowing teachers throughout Nonthaburi to borrow educational materials.

In closing, Mr. Decharat said, "Our five focus areas continue and enhance what is missing: specialized learning, creative learning centers in every district, mental health care for children in every school, reducing educational inequality, and improving teachers' quality of life and readiness. This shows our readiness and commitment to making Nonthaburi better—a province that is healthy physically and mentally, leading in education, economy, creativity, and truly inclusive for everyone."
