The Democrat Party Secretary-General led members to Nan Province to distribute relief bags to flood victims in Tha Wang Pha and Pua districts, stressing that in times of crisis, there should be no division.
On 27 August 2026 in Nan Province, Mr. Chaiwat Bannawat, Secretary-General of the Democrat Party, together with Mr. Mekhin Iamsaard, Deputy Party Leader, visited the area to inspect and deliver relief bags to ease the suffering of flood-affected residents. Local administrative leaders, village heads, and team members warmly welcomed them.
The delegation visited two main sites: the multipurpose building at Ban Tha Wang Pha, Village 7, Tha Wang Pha Subdistrict, Tha Wang Pha District, and the fresh market at Ban Rong, Village 4, Pua Subdistrict, Pua District, to distribute essential supplies and offer encouragement to residents facing the flooding situation.
Mr. Chaiwat spoke with local residents, saying the party has closely monitored the situation since the flooding began. He conveyed the concerns of Democrat Party Leader Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva and Mr. Chuan Leekpai to everyone in Nan. Despite some delays in transporting relief items, he was determined to visit the people in person.
“Today, I deliberately took leave from parliamentary sessions—my first leave since becoming an MP—because my heart could not wait even a day. As soon as we received the items, we rushed to deliver them. We do not care about party lines or which agency is involved; whoever helps the people is good,” he said. The Democrat Party Secretary-General stated.
Mr. Chaiwat added with concern that he sends his support to all affected citizens and hopes the water situation will return to normal soon. He wished everyone good health and freedom from illness, and expressed gratitude to volunteers, local leaders, and all government sectors who have worked hard to care for the flood victims.
Relief supplies and bags from the Democrat Party have been distributed progressively to several districts in Nan Province, including Tha Wang Pha, Wiang Sa, and Pua, as well as to flood-affected areas in nearby districts Lom Sak and Lom Kao in Phetchabun Province, to provide initial assistance to the people in need.
