At 16:00 on 27 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul left the Government House after finishing his duties.
Before leaving, Atthasit Sampantarat, Permanent Secretary of the Interior, bowed respectfully to the Prime Minister, who then grasped his arm to help him rise before departing the Government House.
This occurred after the Cabinet approved the transfer and appointment of 20 senior Interior Ministry officials, effective from 1 Oct 2026.
Previously, there were rumors that Atthasit might be reassigned to another ministry due to political groups pushing for someone else to take his place. However, in this reshuffle, Atthasit remains as Permanent Secretary of the Interior.
