A key agenda item was the nomination of a new NSC Secretary to replace the current Secretary, Chatichai Bangchuad, who was reassigned by Cabinet resolution on 25 August to serve as Secretary-General to the Prime Minister's Office. Reports indicate that General Chaiphruek Duangpraphat, Army Chief of Staff, was proposed as the new NSC Secretary during today's meeting.
